Medical Assistant – Cardiology

DESCRIPTION

The position is part-time; 2 days per week. (approximately 8 hours/day)

The Have A Heart Clinic operates to provide excellent cardiology care to patients regardless of their insurance status or income.  Free cardiovascular care is provided to uninsured and indigent patients who are at or below the 200% poverty level.  All aspects of cardiovascular services are provided and the patients are connected to support services through a Coordinated Care Model.

The Medical Assistant assists in the examination and treatment of patients at the Have A Heart Clinic under the direction of the physician/provider.

The Medical Assistant completes the following tasks:

  • Assists physician with all tasks associated with patient care as requested, within the scope of practice and certification.
  • Interacts with patients, patient family and caregivers in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Assists other clinical personnel as needed and interacts with the other healthcare providers to facilitate a smooth continuum of care.
  • Assists with coverage of Patient Access areas.

Salary Range: Hourly

Job Requirements:

Basic Life Support training required

Cardiology practice experience preferred

CMA or LPN certification/license preferred

EHR and computer skills preferred

Patient Access Representative – Cardiology Office

JOB DESCRIPTION

The position is part-time; 2 days per week. (approximately 8 hours/day)

The Patient Access Representative greets patients and families at the front desk.  Registers and pre-registers patients in the practice management system.  Schedules patients for appointments.  Scans insurance cards.  Collects and assists patients with financial paperwork. Collects and processes co-pays and payments as needed.  Answers phone calls.  Makes appointment reminder calls. Requests patient records.  Assists clinical staff with administrative tasks.

Salary Range: Hourly

Job Requirements:

Excellent customer service skills required

Medical Office experience preferred

EHR and/or Practice management experience preferred

Computer skills preferred – Word and Excel
